Meet Ruth
Ruth Stender, RYT®
I’m Ruth Stender, a versatile freelance writer who loves crafting essays, memoirs, and self-help content that inspire, heal, and connect people to their own stories.
My creative spark extends beyond the page—I’ve written lyrics for six original songs, brought to life through innovative AI music generators, blending timeless storytelling with cutting-edge tools.
For over twenty years, I worked in the aerospace industry, sharpening my skills in empathetic communication, collaboration, and technical writing.
In 2005, facing an autoimmune condition, I turned to energy medicine for answers and healing. By 2008, I opened my own wellness practice, Seattle Energy Medicine, and pursued multiple certifications in functional breathing, meditation, yoga, and related fields while continuing to hone my writing craft.
This unique path allows me to bring grounded expertise, mindfulness, and deep compassion to every word I write—and to every writer I support. Whether through coaching, editing, or upcoming writing retreats, I work to help others find flow, clarity, and voice.
I look forward to meeting you and supporting your journey!
I am the master of my fate: I am the captain of my soul.” ~William E. Henley
“Breath is our life force—the link to our sacred essence. It is a gateway to the soul, where we find wholeness, joy, and inner peace.”
“I remember how free it felt to have a place where the air flowed, the energy wasn’t thick, and every breath
felt clean.”
Clearing Spaces
Soon after I started practicing energy medicine; I was contacted by a family to clear their home. Their five-year-old daughter was having nightmares and sometimes acted them out, which put her and the rest of the family at risk. After assessing the entire home, I cleared every room. I put extra focus on Amy’s little space. In addition to suggesting they adjust the location of a few physical items, I used a small amount of sage, moldavite incense and voice toning to clear the area where Amy slept. I returned two more times within a two-week period. A few weeks after my last visit, I received an update:
“Amy had started sleeping through the night for the first time in her life.”
I have worked to clear a wide range of spaces over the years. Getting feedback from clients like Amy’s family is affirming and reminds me of how important it is to our health and wellbeing to have a space where you feel safe and happy.
Sometimes we can’t name what feels like bad energy, but we know it’s there. I am very sensitive to “invisible” energies and can work with you to clear your space.
“I can teach you how to do it yourself…!”
Just like cleaning out the fridge, sweeping the floor, or putting away piles of clothes, you can make it a habit to clear the energy in your space. I’m happy to show you how!
“Breathing habits can change the trajectory of an athletic career, which can be a game changer. Literally.”
Breathing
Breath is our life force—the link to our sacred essence. It guides us through challenges and reignites our light on the other side. Our breath is a gateway to the soul, where we find wholeness, joy, and inner peace. In this sacred space, answers to our deepest questions emerge.
My hope is to inspire you to connect with the power of breath as a path to health, harmony, and happiness—no matter where life’s journey takes you!
Proper breathing is critical in athletics. Breathing habits can change the trajectory of an athletic career, which can be a game changer. Literally.
“When you master your breath, your athletic abilities auto-magically improve because your body operates more efficiently.”
You don’t “gas out” so quickly and you feel stronger, longer. In my observations, most athletes (especially youth) do not breathe correctly, which means they are missing out on that extra bit of juice. If you want an edge over your competition, master your breath. It’s your secret weapon.

What I’m Reading…
My reading pile includes a diverse mix of genres—from spirituality to political to science-fiction—but, mostly, I read nonfiction. I am currently studying with Patrick McKeown, and his books are part of the coursework but are written for anyone interested in learning more about the science of breath. I have discovered a love for philosophy and recommend a few books that have captured my attention. As a student of the art and science of yoga, I recommend writings by Paramhansa Yogananda; in particular, his books on the life of Jesus.
“When you own your breath, nobody can steal your peace.”
